Sharing and review

Share view-only and review links, invite named people, present live, collect comments and work with your team.

You can show your model to anyone with a link, let clients pin comments in it, limit a link to people you invite, and lead a live walk round the building. Inside a team, everyone works on the same cloud projects and sees who else is there.

Sharing needs the project saved to the cloud. See Saving and projects.

  1. Choose File → Share view-only link….
  2. Press Create link, then Copy.

Anyone with the link can orbit, walk through, switch levels, go to saved views, open the drawings, measure, click an element to see its sizes, and use AR on a phone. They can't change anything, and they don't need an account.

The link updates when you save to the cloud, keeping visitors where they're looking. Stop sharing turns it off.

Shared links leave out your custom property values, IFC property sets, the undo history and private product notes.

Turn on client comments

In the Share dialog or the Comments panel, turn on Clients can comment. The link becomes a review link: visitors open Comments, click a spot in the model and write. They comment as a guest with a name, or signed in with Google. They see your replies, never your team notes. Stopping the link deletes its comments.

Share with invited people only

Under Who can open it, choose Only people I invite instead of Anyone with the link. Add each Email address and press Invite.

We email each person the link. It opens for them once they sign in with that address. You and your team can always open it. Anyone else sees a message that the model is shared with invited people only. Switching back to Anyone with the link keeps your list.

Present live

Turn on Present live in the Share dialog. People on the link follow your view as you move round the model, under a chip saying whose view they're following. If they drag, scroll or press a key, they stop following; Follow picks it up again. A chip in your app bar shows you're presenting, with Stop.

Comment in the model

Open Comments from the side rail and press Add a comment. Click the spot in the model, write, and press Post. A numbered pin marks it, and replies stay in its thread.

  • Show flies back to where the comment was written from.
  • Resolve closes a thread and Reopen opens it again. Show resolved lists closed threads.
  • When a review link is on, choose Who sees it for each comment: Review link (the client sees it), or Private notes (Team notes in a team project), which only you or your team see.

The Comments item on the rail shows how many threads have something new.

Mark up a saved view

From the Views chip, choose Mark up “…” for the view you're on. Draw arrows, revision clouds, notes and freehand lines, then press Done. The marks show whenever the camera arrives at that view, in the editor and on share links. See Styles and scenes.

Work as a team

In the Projects panel, open the title menu and choose New team…. Team settings… lets owners and admins Invite people by email, set each member's Role (owner, admin or member) and remove members. Invitations are emailed with a join link, and Copy invite link gives you the link to send yourself.

Members open, edit and create the team's projects. Use Move to on a project's menu to move it between your own space and a team, with its version history and share links.

Edit together and see who's there

When teammates have the same cloud project open, edits reach everyone within a moment. Each of you keeps your own undo, and nobody can grab what someone else is moving.

Teammates appear as avatars in the app bar, with a green dot while they have unsaved edits. Click an avatar to see their view. In the model, each person shows as a named camera, with their selection outlined in their colour.
