Schedules and custom properties

Export door, window, room and other schedules to Excel or CSV, take off quantities, and add your own fields to elements.

Stori3D builds schedules from the model as it is now, so they never fall out of step with the drawings. You can export them to a spreadsheet, place them on sheets, and add your firm's own fields to any kind of element.

Export a schedule

Choose File → Schedules. Under Excel (.xlsx) you'll find:

  • All schedules: one workbook, with a sheet per schedule.
  • One schedule at a time: Doors & windows, Rooms, Walls, Slabs, Stairs, Columns, Beams, Ramps, Lifts, Parking, Furniture and Products.

As CSV saves any one of them as a CSV file instead, for other tools.

Excel workbooks have a bold header row that stays put when you scroll, with filters on each column. Numbers are saved as numbers, so you can add them up and sort them straight away.

What each schedule includes

Each schedule has standard columns for its kind of element, such as name, level, type and sizes. For example:

  • Doors & windows: sizes, sill height and the wall each one sits in.
  • Rooms: area, perimeter and whether the room is enclosed.
  • Walls: length, height, thickness, type, face area and volume.
  • Slabs and Columns: areas and volumes.
  • Stairs: risers, riser height and going.

Lengths are in millimetres, areas in m² and volumes in m³. In a project set to imperial units, the export uses feet, ft² and ft³.

Take off quantities

Walls, slabs, columns and beams include volumes, so the workbook works as a first quantity take-off. Filter by level or type in your spreadsheet to total what you need.

List products

The Products schedule lists each real product once, with how many there are, the items, their levels, link and notes. Products are set on a door, window, piece of furniture, column, beam, stair, lift or imported model in Properties → Product: Manufacturer, Product, Code, Link and Notes. Notes stay private on share links.

Put a schedule on a sheet

In Sheets, choose Add drawing → Schedules and pick one, such as the Door and window schedule or the Room schedule. It's placed as a table and updates when the model changes. See Sheets.

Add custom properties

Custom properties are your own fields, such as a fire rating, cost code or supplier.

  1. Open the Project panel from the side rail and find Custom properties. Or select an element and go to Properties → Data.
  2. Press Add property.
  3. Give it a Name and a Type: Text, Number (with an optional unit), Yes / no or Choice (choices separated by commas).
  4. If you started from a selected element, the Only for… switch limits the field to that kind, such as doors. Otherwise every kind of element gets it.

Each element then shows the field in Properties → Data. Values save, copy and undo with the element, survive resizing, and go into My library with it.

Every schedule gets a column for each custom property that applies to it. Custom properties also go into IFC exports, and scripts and AI agents can read and set them.

Removing a property from the project keeps the values already on elements.

Rooms and their data

A room keeps its name and data on a room tag, an invisible point on the level. Click a room's area label in the viewport to select the room and edit its properties.
